Me!

Hello I’m Gilli-ann, an artist, a poet, writer and teacher and practitioner of meditation. You will learn a lot about me through reading my work as I am very open and real.

There are so many things I want to share and this seemed a really good platform to do that. I am on a journey to push the boundaries in my artistic practice, to tell the stories one can often only tell through art and poetry. Expressing through these mediums things that often seem too deep and personal to share in any other way. I am hoping to help you unravel what’s happening in your life and believe, two of the most healing words are ‘and me’.

I wrote a journal from January to May 2020 some of which went to the Swansea University archives, they were collecting peoples experiences of COVIC-19 in their daily lives, in the same way they did after the second world war. This journal had many purposes, first and foremost it was something I could leave behind when I die, in particular for my Granddaughter. I elaborate more on this in the Journal section.

It contains my daily experiences and my use of emotional tools, something I am very keen on, a list of which will find on this site with the selection of poetry. I also posted it on Facebook during the first lockdown in the hope that it would help other people and I know it did from the feedback I received. The practice of journalling is so therapeutic and it got me through the first lockdown. Living alone for four months and not seeing anyone was hugely challenging, but writing my journal, poems and painting enable me to have purpose and get through the long days alone. Along side this I ran a weekly well being group on Zoom.

On this site you will find some of my journal entries historic and present day, poetry, paintings and meditations I have recorded. Also my art some with stories about the paintings and some pieces are for sale, part of the money from these will go to the charity Youngminds as I am passionate about young peoples mental health.

Enjoy this site with my love interwoven throughout x
