Art journalling journey

I am used to starting a painting and carrying on until it is finished. But art journalling is teaching me there are many ways to work with this ‘new to me‘ medium. I find myself working on more than one page at a time, as I try to find out what I am wanting to say. Putting words and pictures on the same piece of work confuses my brain, I have always gone through periods of writing poetry or painting but never along side each other. I have watched a lot of YouTube and it all looks relatively easy but then I realise because I am a narrative artist I need to tell a story within each piece. I have also decided to write a journal along side the art journal so I and others can see my process. This will be particularly important when I start to do Art Journalling workshops which I intend to start in September. I have finish my first page which is on display here!

In amongst my searching this week I wrote a poem. There is always room for new beginnings and a refocus, but will it get embedded enough...
